P1A, also known as Pia, is a digital artist who blends primitive and modern aesthetics into surreal figurative scenes exploring the cycle of life and death. Working primarily in red, black, and white, colors central to her visual identity, she builds each piece around research into imagery, choreography, and pose, aiming to symbolize levels of human consciousness.
P1A was born from the Greek Islands and Turkish coastlines, and describes herself as a global citizen rooted in the Aegean coast. She left traditional schooling for the fine arts at age 15, later studying post-conceptual art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and training in stage, set, costume design, and puppetry in Istanbul, including puppet mastery at the Prague Quadrennial. Her work as a stage and set designer for theatrical productions has shaped her artistic narrative.
She first learned about NFTs in January 2020 and minted her first 1/1s in the months that followed, later becoming a full-time artist around 2022.Her piece Choices & Consequences, a surreal work evoking the spirit of Ubu Roi and exploring Zodiac and elemental themes, was shown in the group exhibition “Ephemeral Visions”,and sold for 1.692 ETH through Art of This Millennium.In July 2024, she released the card Fight To Be as part of The Memes, a collecting project on Ethereum run by 6529.
