ON THIN ICE, working under the handle oonthinice, is a visual artist and musician who created BABEL, a collaborative digital artwork depicting an urban landscape. The piece invited members of the NFT community to contribute a personal photograph for one of its windows before it was minted in 2021.,
Day by day, more artists joined the piece by sending in a photo to be edited into one of Babel's windows, and after 22 days, 119 artists had become part of the artwork. oonthinice also opened a group chat for the growing community that stayed active around the clock.Babel sold as an NFT within about a week of a July 2021 interview about the project.
