Omar Valdes is a visual artist who works across photography, painting, performance, and video art, and has incorporated artificial intelligence into their practice.Their work explores the human condition from an anthropological perspective, examining different points of view on objective and subjective reality.
One of their photographic series, Habanos con aroma de mujer, follows Cuban women cigar makers, tracing the pleasure, aromas and Creole tradition behind the craft from the cigar factory to the space where the finished cigars are sold. They have also presented their work in a virtual exhibition space on the platform Oncyber, titled “Omar Valdés Art Gallery”.
