Olga Fedorova is a Brussels based digital artist whose figurative work moves between hyperrealism and surrealism, its mysterious, blurred characters and deep colours creating an uncanny, eerie atmosphere.She often incorporates her own scanned image into the work, blurring the line between artist and subject, and between reality and virtuality.
Fedorova holds an M.A. in painting from ENSAV in Brussels and in 2016 held a solo exhibition, “The Inevitability of a Strange World”, at Liebaert Projects in Belgium.In 2018 she contributed compound installations to “Future Love”, alongside Joey Holder and Chloe Delarue, offering visionary depictions of contemporary anxieties around sexuality.She has since shown in solo and duo exhibitions at venues including Tatjana Pieters in Ghent, Watermans Arts Centre in London, OJ Art Space in Istanbul and Annka Kultys Gallery in London, alongside group exhibitions at Electromuseum in Moscow and Future Gallery in Berlin.,
In the universe in me, shown in Unit London's “Purity Dolls” exhibition in February 2024, she used blurs and textures to convey the shifting, multifaceted emotions of her own life.Of her series The Body Trail, she has said: “Art helps me uncover hidden parts of myself through a surreal language that resists explanation”, describing AI as a way of sublimating her irrationality into a clearer form of expression.
Her AI-generated video Creatures of the Night: Techno Party Edition imagines a techno party overtaken by surreal phenomena, and was released as a single edition through Fakewhale's “SYNTHETIC PROGRAM” on SuperRare in November 2024.The work was later screened at Tick Tack in Antwerp as part of the gallery's Cinema program, in early 2025.
