Ogun Kizmaz is a painter based in Ankara, Turkey, working close to the Impressionist movement and drawing on daily observation of self and surroundings. The practice centers on Imok, a hand-drawn character and NFT collectibles series exploring the changing nature of personal identity, developed through more than 300 days of work.
In July 2023, Kizmaz released Am'I …? on Nifty Gateway, six illustrated open-edition NFTs continuing the Imok series and posing a question about identity, framed around the idea that people “change every moment of every day”. The character Imok has also been shown as a mural, for about a month, on a wall belonging to the Cankaya Municipality in Ankara. T'one, a character from a separate multi-chain collection of hand-drawn pieces by Kizmaz, was likewise exhibited as a mural in Ankara for about a month.
