Nubplus is a Turkish-born multidisciplinary artist based in Montenegro who began as a muralist and studied sculpture before shifting his practice into digital production. Working with modular ceramic tiles, bricks and generative code, he builds a visual language of square-headed, two-legged figures derived from Kufic script that recur across his interactive and generative work.
A former graffiti artist, Nubplus was strongly influenced by typography and developed his surface designs from Kufic script, the angular calligraphic form of Arabic writing. That language gave rise to the humanoid figures that recur throughout his work, which he describes as “emotional symbols” whose relationships to one another form structures that mimic architectural compositions. He also works with modular ceramic tiles and bricks tied to architectural thinking, and pursues large-scale architectural projects in the digital medium, since building them physically would demand resources beyond his reach. In 2025 Nubplus contributed UTO, an interactive WebGL piece, to the Architecture edition of “ACTZ Commissions”, a Tezos-ecosystem auction series in which artists selected through open calls respond to a monthly theme. In UTO, viewers can move the camera freely through the scene, and Nubplus highlighted columns and beams as the piece's core structural elements: “No matter how dazzling the illusion created by repetition and motion may be — at their core, every unit is equal.”
His other releases include Automata Monads, 2025, an edition of 100 on fx(hash) exploring the aesthetic and mathematical beauty of cellular automata, and Synthetic Flora, 2025, an edition of 111 built around botanical and vegetal imagery.,In 2024 he released his first collaborative work, SUNKEN, with the artist Datura, on fx(hash) via Base.
