Noah Kocher, known as NoKo, is a visual artist who makes layered collages from vintage magazine pagesand digitally alters them with a liquify effect that gives the images a fluid, screen-only quality.Based in Brooklyn, New York, he was born in Tennessee.His collages and paintings distort figures into dreamlike, uncanny-valley forms that mix familiarity with the strange.
Kocher started doodling in a notebook after taking an art history class and began selling his designs on t-shirts.,He later moved into collage, cutting images from vintage magazines from the 1980s and 90s and creating his own backgrounds rather than relying only on found pages.A large donated collection of vintage National Geographic magazines, acquired while he lived in Asheville, North Carolina, became a key source of material for his collages.
Kocher lost his restaurant job when the COVID-19 pandemic began in 2020 and turned to selling his art for income.,He joined the platform SuperRare that November.In 2021 he launched Love Letters, a project in which each buyer received a hand-drawn image, a personal letter, and a sticker, and he sold more than 40 of them. He released a second iteration, Love Letters II, in 2023.In 2025 he took part in “When Pixels Learned to Samba”, a SuperRare x Rio Art Residency group exhibition, alongside artists including Bryan Brinkman, Dave Krugman, and Efdot.
