NessGraphics (American, b. 1995) is the professional name of Alex Ness, who creates cyberpunk dystopian imagery across images, video and light projections, rendered in saturated, green-tinted color palettes. His apocalyptic visions explore socio-political themes such as climate change, artificial intelligence, police brutality and nationalism, drawing on social media, gaming, science fiction and Elon Musk's Neuralink project.
Ness began making 3D art around age 12, and as a high schooler he charged $50 to produce Call of Duty intro videos for YouTube gamers and freelanced 3D modeling for a watch company. While studying digital media design in college, he began posting work on Instagram under the name NessGraphics, inspired by Beeple's daily Everydays practice, which led the two to become friends. This exposure led to work designing touring visuals for musicians, starting with Imagine Dragons. By 2019 he had worked roughly 40 shows for about 25 artists, including Travis Scott's Astroworld Tour and Diplo's Coachella set. During the Covid-19 pandemic, when touring stopped, he created the video screen visuals for Lil Nas X's 2020 Grammys performance and Megan Thee Stallion's Good News visualizers.
