Nahiko is a French hacker and artist who turns platform vulnerabilities into conceptual works.Early in the practice, hacks of NFT marketplaces such as SuperRare and Foundation.app were turned into screenshots sold as NFTs, using the exploits to question ideas of art and ownership. The work treats the canvas itself, rather than any image on it, as the real subject.
The hacking has been framed as benevolent, intended to make the NFT world safer for platforms, project creators, and users. In 2021, Nahiko collaborated with the CryptoCubes collection on a drop released on Nifty Gateway, and separately made Echoes, an NFT guestbook.Described in early 2021 alongside Shl0ms, SkyeNicolas and La Mona Lisa Freak as part of a loose group of anonymous NFT hacker artists, Nahiko's screenshots of marketplace exploits were seen as part of a possible new current in NFT art.
In September 2022, Nahiko released The Stream as a single edition, alongside Absolute Zero, an edition of 512that visualizes the blockchain's increasing entropy.By late 2023, Nahiko had been selected by FingerprintsDAO to produce a collection through its studio, which sold out quickly.
The practice increasingly turned to on-chain art that plays with how image data is actually stored, splitting a single image across multiple storage methods.By late 2024, Nahiko explored the idea of blockchain as a medium, comparing NFTs stored fully on-chain with those partly hosted on third-party servers such as IPFS. The discussion considered what a collector actually owns once platforms such as KnownOrigin and Async Art shut down.In October 2024, Nahiko released Zima, a collection of 1,024 code-generated poems on highlight.xyz, each containing hidden secrets for collectors to find.In 2025, the work MONEY embedded the word money across every layer of a digital object, creating an omnipresent verse. The piece was included in the “Computational Poetry” exhibition at NEORT++ in Tokyo, curated by Zeroichi Arakawa and Yusuke Shono.Nahiko has also written about the cost of putting an NFT fully on-chain, in an essay titled “I Paid $2,699.79 to Put My NFT Onchain”.
