MykNash is an artist and musician born in Nashville, Tennessee, whose visual work grew out of years playing in punk, ska, and post-punk bands.,He calls his style “slop pop”, a mashup of punk rock attitude, 1980s and 1990s skate culture, and nostalgic joy, made mostly as hand-drawn frame-by-frame animation on an iPad.
He began his career as a touring punk bass player, playing in bands including Plaster, which performed on the Vans Warped Tour, and Dungeon Honey, whose short-run cassette sold out in Japan.After finishing college with degrees in mass communication, music business, entertainment technology, and marketing, he moved into graphic design, channeling what he had learned from music into abstract work, design, and poster art. Early influences included Jim Phillips, VCJ, John Van Hamersveld, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Rick Griffin, and Drew Brophy, whose boldness, repetition, and color he has said taught him “how to communicate without saying a word”.
After a period working in a traditional corporate job, he returned to creative work and was drawn into Web3 by the community around NFTs.His character Skelly, a skeleton that is always shown with an X over its mouth, took shape during a 2021 Inktober daily drawing challenge.,Conceived as a symbol of unity, since a skeleton has no race, gender, or nationality, Skelly began in the Tezos ecosystem before moving across other blockchains and onto stickers distributed in person.He has said “Tezos will always have a huge place in my heart”, having discovered it through objkt.com after feeling that much of the wider NFT scene was chasing apes and hype trains.
In October 2025 his work was included in “Protocol Decay: Marfa 2025”, a 35-artist show held in a church venue in Marfa, Texas during Artblocks Weekend, alongside artists including Lorna Mills.He has also shown at Web3 art events during NFT NYC and Miami Art Week, alongside earlier gallery shows and silent auctions in his hometown of Nashville.
