"Mutation Cycles" is a collection of animations by Figure Frame (@figureframe). The collection was inspired by a painting exercise that Henrietta Schutz taught at Cooper Union in the 1950s. Students were given a jar of black paint, a jar of white paint, and a blank piece of paper. They alternated between black & white, producing a dynamic figure/ground composition in a state of continuous transformation.
