Muriel Lherm is a French-British artist based in London who works with artificial intelligence, moving image and digital installation to explore memory, identity and emotional presence.Lherm began making AI art around 2023, after winning an online art challenge, and combines classical references such as the Pre-Raphaelites with contemporary generative tools.
Lherm often sets classical music against hyper-contemporary visuals to create a deliberate dissonance between sound and image. Lherm also uses aesthetics that can look soft, cute or even childish as a way of carrying darker or more unsettling ideas.Recurring themes include disappearance, resilience and ecological fragility, and Lherm has said the work stays attentive to injustice and to the position of women without becoming confrontational or ideological.
In the Genesis protocol series, made with treeskulltown, Lherm blends AI, stop-motion and digital art across seven acts exploring the birth of consciousness. In 2024 Lherm was commissioned by World of Women and Yuga Labs for the Legends of the Mara project. In March 2025 Lherm inscribed work on Bitcoin as part of a Gamma-launched collection of twenty female artists.Lherm's moving image work has screened at Beeple Studios and the Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum in Arizona. It has also been shown at NFT NYC, Miami Art Week and on Times Square billboards.
Lherm's images combine surrealism, fantasy and symbolic storytelling, with elongated portrait compositions, celestial elements and Japanese-influenced lighting.Lherm has received grants from Art on Tezos, from LUKSO and Refraction DAO for the project Abstracted Parameters, and from Buildtree and the Flow blockchain for the animated series Memoria Oceani.
