Milian Mori is a Swiss composer and digital artist based in Switzerland, working across sound, algorithmic visuals and performance.,,,His solo practice combines dance music, generative pixel-based visuals and minimal composition, developed over more than a decade into a musical language that expands and reinterprets club music's vocabulary.,,
Mori holds a bachelor's degree in sound art and completed a master's degree in composition at the University of Bern in 2022.That year he joined the German label Raster Noton, also known as Raster Media, which released his debut album AS YOU WERE LISTENING, made in the language of dub techno.,,In his solo performances he pairs contemporary bass music with black-and-white graphical animations.
In 2023 Mori undertook a residency at Co-iki in Tokyo, collaborating with the Japanese artist Toru Izumida on the concert series Public Visuals across venues including Tunnel Tokyo, DOMMUNE and Root K Contemporary, where he presented a video installation. He has cited the Japanese artists Ryoji Ikeda and Aoki Takamasa, and the architecture practice Vector Architects, as influences on this exchange with Japanese culture.In July 2024 he premiered a collaboration with sho players from the Mitakadai Quartet at WALL_alternative in Tokyo, fusing electronic music with the sho, a traditional instrument used in Japanese court music, in a work visually inspired by the architect Junya Ishigami's Plaza at KAIT University, staged as part of Switzerland's Vitality.Swiss cultural program.,
