Mike Shinoda (American, b. 1977) is a musician and a founding member of Linkin Park who has also released generative NFT projects on Tezos.,In 2021 he released Ziggurats, a collection of 5,000 mini-mixtapes, each about seven minutes long with the same vocals but music and cover art assembled from his own layered material so that no two are alike.
Shinoda has described the music and artwork as “built from layers, made by me, assembled in unique combinations so that no two are alike”, with the cover art done in an illustrative, profile-picture style.The Ziggurats public mint on Tezos sold out quickly at 15 XTZ per token in December 2021, and objkt.com later credited the project, alongside a small number of other custom-contract releases, with helping establish profile-picture collecting on Tezos.,One newsletter later called Ziggurats one of the first generative mixtape and profile-picture-style NFT projects.
In 2022 he released WINDCHIME, an audio NFT project distributed through Secret Garden that let collectors play and save 24 musical loops, with Ziggurats holders given allowlist access.
