Mika Ben Amar (b. 2004) is a Berlin-based artist whose practice navigates the internet as both medium and subject, examining personalized advertising, data collection, and the systems that capture and monetize attention. She builds her own tools and uses her own browsing data to make these usually invisible systems visible.
In https://internet.flowers (2025), she trained her own object-detection model to pull every flower image out of her browser history and arranged them into digital bouquets, turning years of casual browsing into something ornamental. Ad Space (2025) uses a browser extension that strips a webpage down to its ads alone. The idea came from a dream, and she built the archive by visiting thousands of unfamiliar websites until her own targeted advertising dissolved into a random stream of ads for anything at all. Both projects were released through Verse and are held by ARTXCODE, which represents her.
