Micah Alhadeff (b. 1992) is an artist who works with 3D animation, AI, code and game engines to introduce error and instability into technological systems, corrupting the familiar into forms that slip between the organic, the mechanical and the artificial. Drawing on glitch aesthetics, queer theory and video game culture, he treats technology as an engine for mutation and worldbuilding rather than a mirror of reality.
He holds an MFA in Electronic Integrated Arts from Alfred University's New York State College of Ceramics, a BFA in Graphic Design and a BA in Art History and Art Criticism, both from Colorado State University, and is Assistant Professor of Kinetic Imaging in the Gwen Frostic School of Art at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. He began minting NFTs after quitting a bartending job for money, and found the practice opened an audience beyond the insular feedback loops of art school, connecting him with digital artists internationally.
