MF DOOM, born Daniel Dumile, was a hip-hop artist who also recorded and performed under the names Viktor Vaughn, King Geedorah and Zev Love X.¹ He shaped his persona around a metal mask modeled on the Marvel villain Doctor Doom, which he adopted after a period of personal trauma.²
