Merve Mepa

Bio

Merve Mepa (b. 1985) was born in Kocaeli and is an artist based in Istanbul. She works in metallic sculptural installation and moving image. Her installations resemble archaeological sites of computer hardware networks, with steel poles snaking overhead and down to connect with moving-image screens like nodes.

In 2025 Mepa's work was included in the first leg of the 18th “Istanbul Biennial”, titled “The Three-Legged Cat” and curated by Christine Tohmé, which brought together 47 artists selected through an open call across eight venues along the Beyoğlu-Karaköy axis. The exhibition ran from September 20 to November 23, 2025, and Mepa's work was shown at the Galata Greek School venue.

Mepa is also active in Istanbul's digital art scene, showing at the inaugural Noise Media Art fair in January 2024 alongside artists including Alara Başar and Ceren Su Çelik, and at the “Istanbul Digital Art Festival” in June 2026.
