meodai, credited on the site as David Aerne, is a computational designer working through the studio Elastiq GmbH. The practice centers on color: meodai designs generative palette tools, color libraries, and design-system engines. meodai is known in the creative coding community for building tools such as “RampenSau”, a hue-cycling palette generator.
meodai has also released a collection of generative art as on-chain tokens on fxhash. In 2024 meodai collaborated with the artist Rik Oostenbroek on Verloop-Dégradé, a large-format book pairing Oostenbroek's hand-crafted gradients with algorithms that transformed them into new digital compositions.
The book was presented at Paris Photo 2024 as part of the Nguyen Wahed exhibition “Heterotopia”, a showcase of photography and code-based artworks exploring light.
