MCHX, the working name of Kazakhstan-born digital artist Anton Dubrovin, creates abstract works using code, graphics software and AI, focused on producing an aesthetic experience.His practice is heavily influenced by the Color Field movement, using color and light as a medium of expression across generative pieces coded in JavaScript and GLSL.,His pieces often evolve slowly, described as shifting like an abstract expressionist canvas throughout the day.
In 2022, Dubrovin released REPLICA on Foundation, his first major collaboration, working with composer and sound designer Peter Bayne to translate light and color into sound and back again, in part through an audio-reactive AI model built with StyleGAN.In 2023, he made CASCADE with José Gasparian, an animated series inspired by water in which each artist contributed a distinct color palette.In 2024, he released Everlasting, an edition of 128 launched on Function Gallery.
Neon Drift (2025) produces a weightless colour form entirely through code, with nebulous swaths of blended colour drifting slowly across the frame.Along with Phantom Vector (2025), it was presented exclusively on Layer.com, a dedicated display platform for generative art on which his work has appeared alongside pieces by Casey Reas and Andreas Nicolas Fischer.,,He also released Soft Continuum ∞ (2026), an open generative collection of 300 artworks, through the platform Verse.,
