Bio

m/branson makes pixelwork pieces, hand-drawn digitally in Procreate, alongside analog drawings in graphite and ink and a growing body of photography.^, She describes the work, part geometric abstraction and part minimal expressionism, as “futuristic nostalgia”. Before working in the visual arts she spent about seven years as a firefighter and paramedic, a period that included time in Antarctica.

m/branson works primarily in series rather than single, freestanding pieces. Pixelworks pieces are drawn by hand in Procreate and minted mostly as one-of-one works, with periodic editions released on both Ethereum and Tezos through m/branson's own contracts. The vellumworks series starts from graphite and ink drawings on vellum, scanned and finished digitally with color and, at times, animation. Photography, m/branson's first creative interest, produced the mid-pacific series, her first dedicated body of photographic work.

That experience in Antarctica led her to decide she wanted to “make a life, not a living”. m/branson also writes about and interviews other artists, alongside her visual practice.
