Maskay is an artist-led community and digital art gallery based in the NOA (Northwest Argentina) region, founded in 2021 by the artist Pablo Rivero, known as Stipinpixel.,In Quechua, 'maskay' means search,and the community describes itself as a support network helping artists in Argentina's peripheral Northwest overcome barriers to accessing Web3.
Its members include the illustrator Alexander Gonzalez, whose comic-influenced, cyberpunk-themed work draws on his home city of San Miguel de Tucumán, and the pixel artist CAN5INO, whose football-themed animations reflect his interest in the sport. Gonzalez has said that Rivero and the wider community helped him grow as an artist and connect with creators across Latin America. CAN5INO has said Rivero personally helped him create his first NFT artist profile.
In November 2024 Maskay staged “Búsqueda (hacer arte) / Perderse (en las reglas del mercado)” during Tucumán's Semana de las Artes at the Casa Museo de la Ciudad, showing work by eighteen artists. The show's central theme was the motto “Artistas apoyan artistas”, or Artists support artists. The following month Maskay collaborated with the Buenos Aires–based music project Música W3 on IMPACT, a collection of eleven videoclips pairing sound and visual artists, launched at a listening party at Dune Park. In January 2025 it launched Maskay Rooms, a project inspired by the architect Sou Fujimoto's Primitive Future, developed with 37 artists across more than 40 rooms and tokenized on Objkt within the Tezos ecosystem.
In November 2025 Maskay presented “Sobre Periferia” at the Casa Museo de la Ciudad in San Miguel de Tucumán. It featured the experimental media artist Martin Burgos, who works in 3D, film, and sound and has exhibited in Tucumán, Buenos Aires, and on the Neo Shibuya TV screen circuit in Tokyo. Rivero's own photographic series Espesura, twenty images of the Yungas landscape near Tucumán, was made for the gallery.
