Martín Bruce (b. 1988) paints and makes digital works that collect and rework imagery from video games, internet culture and natural landscapes, transposing it onto canvas and other media. Raised in a creative family in Chile, he studied painting at Finis Terrae University in Santiago before settling in Porto, Portugal, where he is based.
Bruce had made digital art with MS Paint as a hobby since 2009, and during the 2021 global lockdown he became aware of the crypto art space and decided to explore whether it would appreciate his work. In 2022 he minted his first piece, Pink Rose Teleportation, on the objkt platform, in an edition of 25 priced at 7 XTZ each.In 2025 he took part in the first season of objkt's Art Pack program, a tradable NFT reward system that commissioned original pieces from more than sixty artists on the platform.
In 2025 Bruce joined the inaugural cohort of the objkt labs Residency alongside Yuran Yakon. For the resulting group show “Training Data and Other Heartbreaks: Signals Between Us”, curated by Anika Meier, he released Obsolete Ruins, a series of nine interconnected images made with MS Paint. The images reconstruct pixelated landscapes drawn from early video games such as Castlevania and Dragon's Lair. He compared the process to a paleontologist reconstructing fossils, treating Geocities pages, abandoned blogs and other outdated web imagery as material for new compositions.
In February 2026 he released Geocities, an eighteen-work collection on Verse curated by Adrian Pocobelli.,That year Anika Meier curated “Open Navigator”, Bruce's solo exhibition at Lehmann Projects, bringing together paintings, tapestries and installations that evoke the early internet.That February his work Archangel II was included in Fakewhale Gallery's “ART MARKET” auction exhibition.
