Mariam Aghaee (Iranian, b. 1973) is a painter whose work also extends into installation, performance, and NFTs. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting from the University of Art and Architecture in Tehran in 2002, and is a member of the Iranian Painters Society.
In 2007 she held a solo exhibition, an installation, and a workshop at the Antalya Fine Arts Gallery in Turkey. She returned to installation and performance in Tehran, presenting an installation at Tehran East Art Gallery in 2012 and a performance there in 2013. Her solo exhibitions in Tehran also include “Civil War” at No. 6 Gallery in 2015 and “One of Us” at Atbin Gallery in 2016.
She held the solo exhibition “Adaptation” at Farmanfarma Gallery in Tehran in 2019. In 2021 her work moved into NFTs, appearing in the group exhibitions “Stratosphere” during NFT week in Beijing and “Mother Earth” at the metaverse gallery Rhyton. That year she also took part in the group exhibition “Salon du Coquelicot” in Chambourcy, France, alongside other Iranian artists.She is based in Paris.
