Marcelo Pinel is a Brazilian digital artist and 3D animator who works under the name Cyber Mystic Garden, creating colourful, looped 3D animations that draw on alchemy, mythology, tarot and other esoteric and spiritual symbolism.,He holds a degree in Visual Arts from the Federal University of Minas Gerais and previously worked as an art teacher.
Pinel had drawn, painted and modelled since childhood, and began working professionally in art around 2014, developing his current style of vividly coloured, spiritually themed 3D animation loops around 2021. His imagery draws on alchemy, mythology, tarot, occultism and world religions, together with the psychology of Carl Jung and the tradition of European alchemical emblem books, and he has described taking part in Ayahuasca ceremonies as part of his engagement with spirituality. In 2023 he began a series of works themed around each of the twelve zodiac signs, releasing one piece to correspond with each sign's season.Describing his own practice, Pinel has said “Cyber Mystic Garden is a laboratory in constant change, a curiosity office or a small museum of my desires and dreams”.
In July 2024 his work was included in the exhibition at the third edition of “Ribela Love Nature”, a techno festival in Sarria, Spain, alongside more than thirty other blockchain-based visual artists.
