Marcelo Moura is the working name of Marcelo Moura Campos Filho, a Brazilian electronic composer and modular synthesist based in Palmas, the capital of Tocantins. He makes generative art and music using open-source modular synthesizers, live-coding tools and code, releasing much of the work on fxhash. He describes his practice as an attempt to abstract the relationship between memory, noise and color.
Moura entered digital art in 2021, after a YouTube livestream about crypto art led him to hicetnunc, a Tezos-based marketplace for digital art. He received his first tezos from Koshino, a co-founder of the platform, and used it to mint music from his own Bandcamp albums. The exposure helped him find an audience beyond the advertising work he had done previously.
