Instead of writing precise prompts to produce a specific image, he treats his instructions to the AI as explorations of concepts, aiming to let the system express itself freely. His work treats the algorithmic biases and distortions that surface in AI-generated images as the true subject of the art.
He describes his role as an intermediary or translator, giving expression to a form of art that is not entirely human but carries traces of another intelligence shaped by the history of art it was trained on. MACHAC calls this stance a “non-intention”: an act of creation that becomes an act of unveiling, revealing what he calls the AI's hidden intentions rather than directing it toward a predetermined result.
