Luis E. Fraguada is a creative developer and artist based in Barcelona who uses code to interrogate reality, working across public interactive installations, wearable computing and generative audiovisual art.,Trained as an architect, he found that the code he wrote to generate buildings could also become a medium of artistic expression.
Fraguada teaches parametric design at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia in Barcelona. The architect and generative artist Jacek Markusiewicz has credited him as a formative influence on his own move from architecture into algorithmic art.In 2023 Fraguada began collaborating with the architect Corneel Cannaerts as the duo Corneel Cannaerts & Luis E. Fraguada.The pair exhibited together in the group show “Generative Architecture: The Making of a Room” on the platform Verse.Fraguada has also exhibited in the Barcelona Generative Art Exhibition, known as MAGBa, in both 2024 and 2025.,The 2025 edition, held under the title “Beyond the Screen” at the Palo Alto complex in Barcelona, brought together fourteen artists working with code, algorithms and autonomous systems.
