Lethabo Huma

Bio

Lethabo Huma (South African, b. 1998) is a digital artist whose work serves as a visual diary of her emotional responses to life experiences. She draws and paints in Procreate, following traditional painting and drawing techniques to achieve expressive brushwork textures. Her portraits use motifs such as flowers and constellation-like lines.

Huma was born and raised in Pretoria, South Africa. She worked in traditional art for her first two years as a professional artist, then turned to digital art in 2018. Huma learned from YouTube tutorials, first making digital art on her phone and later on an iPad using Procreate. She names Alexis Franklin among the artists who influenced her style.

Her work has been shown in Sotheby's “Natively Digital: A Curated NFT Sale” and Christie's “Proof of Sovereignty”.
