lesCogumelos, also known as Quézia, is a Brazilian multidisciplinary artist who works in mixed-media animation blending digital and physical processes. As “a nomad at heart”, she draws on nature, solitude, magic, spirituality and personal memory as recurring themes in her work. Her pieces combine frame-by-frame animation, physical collage and sculpture with digital video.
She began minting on SuperRare in 2022, describing herself as “a wanderer, traveling between worlds, styles, mediums, and everything that challenges me and makes me feel creative”.Early pieces from this period include Instinct for love & freedom, 2022, a frame-by-frame animation combining collage elements, and Adventure Seeker, 2022, a frame-by-frame rotoscopy animation. By 2023 her work included Fragments of a lifetime, pairing physical collage with a rotoscopy video insert, and Back to fantasy, a mixed-media collage combining 3D-sculpted elements, frame-by-frame animation and video.On the platform networked.art she has released the edition Sagittarius Moon, which has sold multiple times.In 2024 she minted Bloom through the wound on Art of This Millennium, an interactive piece pairing a digital sculpted doll with frame-by-frame animation and a physical flower collage, its code developed in collaboration with ChatGPT.The work was included in “Des/Conectados”, a group show on Art of This Millennium held in solidarity with Brazilian digital artists after they lost legal access to X.
In November 2025 lesCogumelos joined the second edition of the Bali Art Residency, a month-long, artist-run program in which ten international artists lived and worked together in the Balinese jungle.,The residency was curated by Kirill Pobedeen, a photographer and creative director, under the motto “by artists for artists”, and culminated in the exhibition “YOU MAY KNOW THEM”, presented digitally by SuperRare and physically at Sun Contemporary Gallery in Bali.,Her contribution to the residency was described as “transcultural nature spirits bridging Brazil and Bali”.It paired the 12×12cm mixed-media sculpture Jepun, The Sentinel with a digital animated collage titled The Mischief Sentinel, together forming a transcultural interpretation of Balinese and Brazilian folklore.The residency's participating artists were later credited together on FREEDOM TO CONNECT, a collaborative work minted in November 2025 as The Memes #440 within 6529's The Memes collection.
