Albert Zaragoza Gas, known as Lenticular Clouds, is an artist working with sound, image and digital systems. His practice explores perception, structure and transformation through experimental music, visual works and hybrid formats. Lenticular Clouds functions as an ecosystem rather than a single discipline, bringing together albums, audiovisual pieces, web-based projects, live performances and digital editions.
Zaragoza released the debut Lenticular Clouds album Ciencia / Conciencia through Neonized Records in 2011, composed and recorded in Barcelona and moving between aetherpop, chillwave and dreampop to use sound as a way of suggesting order within complex systems. The following year brought Universal Geometry on the UK/US label AMDISCS, presented live at Sónar Barcelona in 2012 and built from chillwave, hypnagogic pop and IDM-inflected structures exploring impermanence and perception. Also in 2012, Joy Of Humans appeared through the blog and label Egyptian Maraccas as a netart project in which each track had its own HTML page combining animated GIFs, hidden navigation and embedded audio. Selected tracks from it were later minted as NFT editions on Hic et Nunc in November 2021.In 2015, he performed the EP HEALTH GODS, reflecting on ancient deities of health and healing, as an audiovisual live show at MIRA Festival in Barcelona, and the 3D sculptures made for each deity became some of his earliest NFT works on Tezos.
VOIDS, created in 2018 for a visual project curated by the designer Andreu Serra, explores glitch, fracture and digital materiality through 3D motion work and was minted as an NFT edition in December 2021.Efedra i Baladre, released on cassette in 2019 by the label Crystal Mine, drew its themes from two wild plants growing near where the artist lives, the medicinal shrub ephedra and the toxic oleander, using their contrast between healing and danger as a compositional axis.Veritas was composed and released in March 2020, during the first weeks of confinement, in a rural environment where the artist remained isolated. The album replaced percussion with sustained tones and took its track titles from the scientific names of local plant species. In 2022, Cheap IDM was released as a native NFT album on Tezos with 100 editions. Each edition functions as an HTML-based player that streams the album's 15 tracks directly from IPFS, turning the release itself into a software artifact.
