Kush is a multimedia artist who has worked at the intersection of sound, video and experience design for more than 30 years. A native of Silicon Valley, he spent time on the road with the author Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters at age 24, working as an actor, sound engineer and road manager on their psychedelic bus tour.
He has produced multimedia experiences for musical acts including The Disco Biscuits, DJ Shadow, Meat Beat Manifesto, and Dream Theater. Drawing on that history, his project Magic Bus: The Trip of a Lifetime reimagines his time with Kesey and the Pranksters as AI-assisted digital art. In February 2023 he was named a Top Ten finalist in the Diffuse Together contest hosted by Stability Diffusion, in which artists made AI-generated music videos set to songs by Peter Gabriel, and Gabriel personally reviewed his video for Sledgehammer. He has also collaborated with the abstract artist mpozzecco on MpozzKush, a set of 100 one-of-one artworks combining mpozzecco's style with the mythology of Kush's MetaMushrooms project.
