As a young man he lived and traveled with the author Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters, an experience that later inspired his project Magic Bus: The Trip of a Lifetime, a body of work themed around the counterculture bus journeys chronicled in Tom Wolfe's The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test.¹

In collaboration with the abstract artist mpozzecco, KUSH used mpozzecco's artwork to train a custom AI model, producing MpozzKush, a set of 100 one-of-one artworks that combine mpozzecco's style with KUSH's own MetaMushrooms imagery. In 2023 he was a Top Ten finalist in the Diffuse Together contest hosted by Stability Diffusion, submitting two AI-generated music videos set to songs by Peter Gabriel, one of which, Sledgehammer, Gabriel reviewed personally.¹
