Kurupuri began as a writer, scripting sketches and manzai comedy for other performers to interpret rather than performing them themselves. Wanting to pursue a stranger, more radical form of laughter that could not be expressed in words or performed by anyone else, they turned to generative AI as what they call “a new kind of performer”.¹
