Kristopher Shinn is a photographer and storyteller who was born in San Francisco and is based in Seattle, working primarily on film. Shinn's narrative-based images convey nostalgia and calm, often drawn from journeys across the Puget Sound and further afield, shot on 35mm and medium format cameras.
Shinn grew up in the Bay Area of California pursuing music and sports before finding photography through a rediscovered camera that had belonged to Shinn's father. Shinn released work both physically and digitally, including the film series By Way of Water, documenting journeys on the ferries around Seattle, and Outer. Shinn collaborated with other photographers including Batzdu, Postwook, and Efdot on joint releases.
