The French artist Julien Gachadoat, known as v3ga, writes his own software to create abstract, geometric drawings that he then plots by hand with a pen-plotter machine.,He describes his philosophy as one of leaving “a unique mark, aesthetically palpable, that is not in defiance, but rather in aid of the digital”.
Gachadoat grew up in the 1990s amid the demo scene, making visuals with code, and programming languages have remained his creative tool ever since. He began exploring crypto art in 2021, showing the solo project Radiance on Art Blocks that July and joining Casey Reas's “-GRAPH” exhibition on Feral File that November. In 2023 he presented Structures on Plottables and debuted Pathways at Verse gallery in London.That year he also contributed Mineral to the “+GRAPH” exhibition on Feral File, applying random-walker algorithms and Voronoi diagrams to subdivide the drawing space before layering it with lines he calls decorators.At the end of 2023 he collaborated with the artist Vera Molnár on a single plotter drawing, Deux générations pour un sommaire.
His work has entered generative art collections including Spalter Digital, Le Random, and Ragnar Digital.In 2024 he contributed a new work to the “Interthinking” exhibition at Kate Vass Galerie, which reflected on the legacy of Hungarian pioneers of digital art such as Vera Molnár.That June he spoke on a panel at the Centre Pompidou in Paris devoted to Molnár's late collaborations.,In 2025 he released Noir Orion, an artist's book of 63 algorithmically generated drawings that trace the transformation of a circle into increasingly elaborate forms before it simplifies back into lines evocative of a star.
