Josh Pierce is a digital artist and art director whose work places natural environments beside abstract energy forms. His personal work centres on spiritual themes, nature and mindfulness, and draws on landscape painting, surrealism and minimalism. He makes it in Cinema 4D and Octane Render, with help from World Machine and Houdini.
Pierce studied motion design and animation at RIT from 2001 and later did graduate study at SCAD. He then moved to Los Angeles and built a freelance career in motion graphics for television and entertainment. He art directed the NFL Network show Fantasy Live and created the album cover for Mettavolution by Rodrigo y Gabriela. In 2017 he began making personal work as a form of meditation, which in time took on a serene, calming character shaped by his spiritual practice.
