José Delbo (Argentine, 1933–2024) was a comic book artist who worked in American comics for more than three decades before becoming an early adopter of NFT art in his eighties. He drew Wonder Woman for DC Comics from 1976 to 1981 and The Transformers for Marvel from 1988 to 1990, penciling 25 issues of the latter, more than any other artist on the series.
Delbo published his first professional comics work in Argentina at age sixteen, and after political instability drove him from the country and a stint in Brazil, he settled in the United States in 1963. There he drew Billy the Kid for Charlton Comics, television tie-in comics for Dell including The Brady Bunch and The Mod Squad, and Boris Karloff Tales of Mystery for Gold Key, before joining DC Comics.
