Jon Noorlander is a Swedish multidisciplinary artist and creative director who works across animation, motion design, and sculpture.Based in New York,he makes surreal NFT animations that have been described as focusing on objects caught in an endless cycle of melting form, in the tradition of Salvador Dalí's cinematic experiments with paranoiac imagery.
He studied computer graphics at Luleå University of Technology in Skellefteå, Sweden, and moved to London in 2005 to work in animation. There he became Head of 3D at the studio ManvsMachine and later a Senior Maya Artist at Prime Focus.He went on to become Executive Creative Director at Method Studios in New York, working on commissions for clients including Essie, Apple, and Bud Light.,,Alongside this commercial work he taught himself the node-based software Houdini to make procedural digital sculptures, a body of work exhibited as twenty-one prints at Ex-Convento del Carmen in Guadalajara, Mexico.
In 2021 his work was included in Playboy's “Miami Beach Art Collection”, a group NFT exhibition released on SuperRare and shown at Decentraland Art Week, alongside artists including Ayla El-Moussa and MBSJQ.That year he also released an NFT titled Exploding Heads.
