Johan Lescure is a multidisciplinary artistwho works with the French DJ and artist Agoria as Atelier Σigma.Together they created Σ Lumina, a steel sculpture whose shadow casts a scannable QR code that museum visitors activate with their breath to generate and live-mint digital artworks on the Tezos blockchain.
Σ Lumina formed the centerpiece of “Le Code d'Orsay”, an exhibition by Agoria at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris from February 13 to March 10, 2024.The digital works were generated from a selection of pieces in the museum's own collection, chosen by Lescure and Agoria, and were created in collaboration with the generative art platform fx(hash) and the Feral File app.On March 1, 2024, five works generated from visitor breath sold for a combined 26,400 tez on the Objkt. One platform. The following year, Σ Lumina was included among the works shown at France's AI Action Summit in Paris in February 2025.
Lescure and Agoria's collaborative project Atelier Σigma also produced As Above, So Within, a series of sixteen 1/1 works curated by Grida and shown at ArtVerse in Paris during Art Basel Paris week in 2025. The works trace visual correspondences between neural maps, cosmic webs and self-organizing computational patterns, using generative processes to isolate specific moments of transformation rather than produce open-ended output.
