Joe Hamilton (Australian, b. 1982) makes use of technology and found material to create intricate and complex compositions online, offline and between. He was born in Tasmania and lives and works in Melbourne. His work has been included in media art fairs and online exhibitions, and in group shows at museums and galleries across Europe, Asia, Australia and North America.
Hamilton's CV lists the exhibition “Indirect Flights” at Fort Delta in Melbourne in 2014 and “The Deep Addressable Field” at Nicholas Projects in Melbourne in 2016. In 2016 he was among the artists featured in the online exhibition Digital Canvas on air, and he was also in the 2016 edition of Variation – Media Art Fair in Paris. He returned to the fair in 2017, the year of his exhibition “Remote Sensing” at Ipsum in Madrid and a residency at the Seoul Museum of Art's Nanji gallery. His group exhibitions include “Brushes” at the New Museum in New York and “Vision Quest” at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago.
