jmpntr2217 is an architect and painter who works at the intersection of systemic structure and figuration. He developed the framework of Systemic Figuration, a mode of portraiture that renders visible the structural conditions — technological, financial and institutional — that shape human agency. His practice combines oil painting with computational processes rather than depicting the figure as an autonomous subject.
Since 2018 his Masters of the Universe project has examined figures in finance, politics and technology as systemic operators rather than as individual personalities, applying fragmentation and interface aesthetics developed separately for each subject's structural context. Its works include a 2025 portrait, Portrait of George Soros, released on Tezos. jmpntr2217 has also pursued Anatomies | Figures in Space, examining how individuals function as nodes within economic systems, and One-Line Drawing Studies, a body of single-line computational drawings. The computational work extends a foundation of oil painting that he has practiced since 2005, alongside architectural training at Columbia University that informs his compositional approach.
