Jimmy Weber, who works under the name JimmyTheGhost, is a multidisciplinary artist based in Denver, Colorado. Before turning to digital art, he made motion graphics and film work for brands including Nike, Reebok, and Bank of America. As JimmyTheGhost, he began minting code-based and typography-driven generative art on the Tezos blockchain in 2021, during the early days of the Hic et Nunc platform.
His Wallet Blocks: Series 1, minted on Hic et Nunc, generated a looping animated barcode design from the typography of his own Tezos wallet address. Each collector who acquired the piece received an additional unique 1/1 edition generated from their own wallet ID's typography. In God Signs, a generative series made with p5.js, he algorithmically layered common iconographic shapes with erosion effects to explore how the same basic symbols recur across religious, corporate, and countercultural imagery. He also gave away SHWTMX50, a free NFT made of 50 rotating color blocks, to the first 50 people who followed him on the Showtime app, with each block representing one recipient. He describes Burn Notice as a long-term project to buy back and burn his own early Tezos editions, reducing their supply over time.
