Bio
Jess Hewitt is a generative artist and developer who makes abstract art with code. She co-founded Noise Factor with her partner Alex, building tools including Noisedeck, a shader-based art synthesizer, and Tetra, a palette editor designed to work with it. Her long-form generative projects have been released on fxhash, Art Blocks Factory and Alba.
In Boundary Issues, released on Alba as part of the “Flatlands” group show, she worked with intersecting geometric shapes that “meet, overlap, and push back”, a title inspired by an accidental outline extending beyond the image margin that she decided to keep. The series took nearly a year to complete as she refined its shapes and animation by intuition.
