Jeremie Nassif (French, b. 1971) is a self-taught photographer who mixes flash and ambient light to blur and sharpen a single frame, making movement visible in a still photograph. He calls himself “a body in motion photographer”. He began his career working as a still photographer on film sets, for directors including Claude Chabrol, Michael Haneke and Bartabas.
Before turning fully to photography he made short films and video animation and played Afro-Cuban music, until he shot his first personal photography collection working with dancers. In 2010 he exhibited giant photographs printed on advertising tarpaulins around the Marché des Halles in Biarritz, and his work was shown at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris. Galerie Sit Down hosted a show of his photographs in 2016, the same year he published the book L'instant Expressif with Edition du Regard. His photographs entered the collections of the Fondation Neuflize Vie Pour la Photographie Contemporaine and the Maison Européenne de la Photographie. Since 2022 he has released his photography as NFT editions, minting series including Naked Light on exchange.art and Dance to the Rhythm and Académie Équestre de Versailles on objkt.com.
