Jenni Pasanen (Finnish, b. 1993) is a digital artist who combines digital painting with AI tools to create surreal, dreamlike works built around faceless figures and shifting, atmospheric landscapes.,,She trained in graphic design and worked for years as a designer and animator in branding and marketing before becoming a full-time artist in 2021.,
Pasanen generates GAN-based imagery in Artbreeder and folds it into digital painting, a technique she compares to building “a cake with layers”, adding elements such as animation, photography or 3D on top of one another.,A numbered one-of-one series she titled 0000AI combines GAN imagery with human vision and grew past 100 pieces on Tezos, including the piece 0001AI.,In July 2023 she released Lope, her first long-form generative AI collection, as part of the group exhibition “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” on Kate Vass Galerie's K011 platform.,For it she trained a custom AI model on her own painted canvases, departing from her usual method of combining Artbreeder-generated shapes with digital painting, to produce 101 live-generated pieces exploring the interplay between reason and emotion.
Her work often centers faceless figures floating through smoky, pastel-toned landscapes populated by cloud-like animals, drawing on AI-generated images, distant memories and everyday objects.,Between 2021 and 2023 she produced Mask Obscura, 24 pieces combining digital painting with abstract shapes generated in Artbreeder, organized around the categories Season, Element, Day and Time.In December 2025 she conceived and led Advent Collaboration, a 24-day digital advent calendar pairing her with a different guest artist each day to produce one-of-one works minted through Transient Labs.,
In Hypocrite (2024) she retrained a piece of traditional art through a custom AI model, using the result to question where human authorship ends and the tool begins.She has exhibited internationally, including shows at Kate Vass Galerie, Bright Moments and Christie's, and is part of the Bloom Collective.,
