Jan St. Werner

Bio

Jan St. Werner is a composer and a member of the electronic duo Mouse on Mars. In 2015 he provided live sound choreography at Tate Modern for an evening marking the world premiere of a work in the artist Rosa Barba's series The Hidden Conference.

He composed the audio tracks for Compressed Cinema, a series of audiovisual works by the artist Casey Reas. The video images in the series derive from film stills that Reas created with generative adversarial networks. In 2024 St. Werner joined Michael Akstaller, Nicole L'Huillier and Robert Lippok in creating a sound environment on the Isola della Certosa for the German Pavilion at the Venice Biennale.
