Bio

jalil, whose full name is jalil sebastian wahdatehagh, is a crypto-native artist and builder working across NFT minting and Ethereum tooling. He describes himself as a “gardener” at onezerozeroone and an “apprentice” at Visualize Value, the studio led by the artist Jack Butcher.^,^, His work spans self-published writing, collecting, and building tools for the Ethereum ecosystem.

jalil.eth built CryptoPunksMarket, a trustless smart contract that lets V1 CryptoPunks trade natively through their original 2017 contract without being wrapped, fixing a bug in that contract's original marketplace logic. He has also been developing networked.art, an Ethereum-based auction house, together with ygg and Jack Butcher.

With Jack Butcher he released Consensus Met, a collection that let Opepen holders burn their token to mint a new one. His first project, one day i'll be a punk, was a free collectible released to 10,000 claimers in the summer of 2021. On the day of the mint, gas costs were high enough that it briefly ranked second on Etherscan's list of gas-guzzling contracts, a story he later wrote about as a reflection on the value of decentralized computation.
