Jæn is a multidisciplinary artist working across drawing, painting, animation, and code, with a surreal, psychedelic style shaped by influences including Moebius, Dalí, and Miyazaki.Early in his career Jæn worked in pop-surreal illustration and street art, later shifting toward a more conceptual, technology-driven practice.,His first solo gallery exhibition, a show of photographs and photomontages from Japan, was held at Galerie Oujopo in Lyon, France, in September 2011.,
His Psychædelights series of surreal, dreamlike digital works grew out of a habit of lucid dreaming and a love of colour, developing further under the influence of the artist James Jean and the early cryptoart scene, which let Jæn treat the images as art rather than illustration. Memento Vivere, a piece originally created as a street art poster, was later released as an NFT on SuperRare. Jæn also produced the series Chief Happiness Officer, which uses passive-aggressive humor to address toxic positivity.
Jæn's more recent series Timechain centers on masks, giving them, in his own words, “a newborn identity and purpose through technology”.In February and March 2022 Jæn served as art director and artist on a project with the creative team Dreame that he describes as the first NFT project exhibited inside the International Space Station.,
Jæn has exhibited at galleries including Urban Spree in Berlin and Saatchi Gallery in London, and on the giant screens of Times Square in New York. His commissioned work includes projects for Disney, Diesel, PayPal, and Google for Startups, and he has curated exhibitions and spoken at conferences including the Non-Fungible Conference in Lisbon.,
