Iván Casís Jr. (b. 1979) is a multidisciplinary artist and architect who creates surrealist, geometric compositions as digitally hand-drawn, frame-by-frame animations.Born in Panama City, Panama, he trained as an architect at the University of Panama, graduating in 2006, and that background continues to shape the detail-rich, cryptic storytelling of his work.,
In 2022 his contribution ¿Cómo Hacer una Revolución sin un Carro?, made with the poet Martha Luisa Hernández Cadenas, appeared in Poesía de Protesta, theVERSEverse's collection of visual poems pairing fifteen Hispanic women poets with visual artists. The collection's first iteration appeared at “Refraction Festival” in Miami in 2022, with a second edition shown at “Proof of People x Refraction” in New York in 2023.
He worked in a similarly animated register for corrupted_screensaver.dmg, a 2024 moving-image edition of 15 made with an iPad Pro, Apple Pencil and Procreate.It was included in the “SCREENSAVERS” exhibition, held at Uncommon Gallery in Seoul in 2024.,That year he also took part in the first annual “Subjective Art Festival”, a three-day digital art event at Lume Studios in Tribeca, New York.In 2025 he adapted his 2023 animation CARNAVAL, which reinterprets the smiley face through a surreal, geometric lens, into a laser-cut wooden wall installation accompanied by augmented-reality prints for the “Macrofest Art Expo” open call.That year he was also one of more than 60 artists commissioned for the first season of the objkt Art Pack, a tradable NFT reward system launched by the platform objkt.
